I often play it on my TG01 without any problem.

Maybe you can try "fix_odd_event=1" (not sure of the spelling but you'll find it!) in the fpse.ini

Or check your iso

To clarify, what the gentleman is directing you to change is "odd_even_fix=1" :P

Thanks to both of you kind sirs. Dyslexic or not that switch doesnt help i am afraid.

i have tried two different game images also.

One i ripped myself from my psx cd and have been using for many years.

Could there be another option i could try in the ini?

Don't die? 8-)
Really though. Have you had a look at gamelist.ini? there may be some fix you can apply from that. Check the documentation for a look at what to do with gamelist.ini.

:lol: i was once good enough at this game to not die at all for the first couple of levels!

not so nowadays though.

Ive had a look at gamelist.ini and there is no default entry for r-type. i presume that schtruck would have tried out r-type and didnt think there was a need for any patches/fixes.

Do you have any suggestions as to what to try in gamelist?

Personally i think this is an issue on hd2 with this game as i have tried two different images now and both do the same thing. The whole system locks up after i die... cant even exit out of fpsece. :-(

All I can do is try to get the problem on my phone and see if I can fix it. I'm not going to make any promises about when I'll try it though.

*EDIT* So I've tried it, and like you said, it crashes when you die. I had to remove the battery from my phone to get out of it. :|

*EDIT 2* I've tried enableHLE=off, ArmCoreMMX=on, Lazy_Update_Fix=1, High_Res_Boot_Fix=1 and Odd_Even_Fix=1. None of them solved the problem.

*EDIT 3* I made an entry in gamelist.ini for this game. It gave me an improvement in fps (full speed with frameskip 7, no lag), but still crashes upon dying. :(

I've done all I can with this I feel. I'll have to leave it for Schtruck to fix it seems. Sorry.

Here's the gamelist entry if you are interested though:

Code: Select all

[SCES_017.62]
License=SCES_012.37
Name=R-Type Delta
Notes=
Status=2
Status_HLE=2
Flag0=3
Patch=57

Just copy/paste it into your gamelist.ini and save the changes.

Thanks for trying CloudStrife... at least you have confirmed that this is probably an FPSECE issue.

Could i just ask what device you were testing on?

I can confirm that it crashes, I've tried too.

But it was working perfectly on my previous beta versions (same devices, same .iso, ect), so I wonder what new fix may cause this bug.

Schtruck will have to investigate when he has time
