Memory Card File Path

Postby jetb88 » Mon Sep 03, 2012 4:39 pm

I've got a problem where FPse freezes on select iso screen after I tried to install some plugins. Freezes, screen goes black and after a few seconds I get message saying unfortunately, fpse has stopped. I figured it would be best to just do a reinstall, but before I do, i wanted to get a copy of my save games.

Now here's the prob; because I can't get past the select iso screen, I can't use the memory card backup option in the config menu. So I was wondering if I'm able to physically copy the memory card and save state files from the fpse directory. There is no fpse folder on my phone and I couldn't find one when connected to my laptop either. Is it possible to access these files? Do I need to download some software tool or root my phone?

Next time, I'll definitely change my memory card location to my sd card to avoid these issues, but It would really suck to have to lose my save games. Any help appreciated.

Does it freeze up immediately when trying to choose the ISO? You can push 'back' at the ISO select screen then push 'back' again I've the help screen comes up to bring up the menu.

Yes, as far as I know you have to root your phone to access the directories FPSE uses. I don't know/remember what they are though.

Try what bluezeak said, otherwise you need a rooted phone to access the files which are located at "/data/data/com.emulator.fpse/files/"

Sometimes if im really quick it lets me go back from the iso screen or actually select an iso and see the ps logo, but in both cases it still freezes after like 2 secs and i get black screen. So basically i still can't access the menu.

Thanks for the advice; i guess i'll try rooting my phone and see if i can access those memory card files.

Perhaps it may be worth waiting for the next update? It might force your saves onto the internal SD card since that will be the new location of the savings.

Yes, the new update solved the problem :D Saved me the hassle of rooting my phone, although i'll still probably end up rooting it at some point for a custom rom.

Easily accessible memory cards and save states were much needed. Ty to fpse team for nice update and continued support.
