PocketISO Tutorial

Postby mastanobu » Tue Jan 20, 2009 4:01 am

Hello,

I just downloaded the new PocketISO and am having trouble. I select my FF VII .iso and select maximum compression. When I load in 0.9.6beta it says CDROM failed to initialize. Any help on how to make it work please?

Maximum Compression is not necessary and prefer normal Compression for better speed..

Thanks Schtruck. When I do normal compression it still says CDROM failed to initialize. When I load an ISO, I select analyze, hit the 'ALL' button and then select 'Process'. Has anyone tried this on Final Fantasy 7 and got it to work?

i posted this once on pdai but didn't get anywhere with it...has anyone had success with tomb raider 1 2 3 ect. i've always wanted this game on my ppc. i tried ripping it many different ways( i own the original game) i used pocket iso 1,2 and ripped using the raw cd iso image with no compression. it always gets to the menu and plays opening videos but when i would choose to start the game it hangs at the loading screen and goes nowhere??? anyone get one of these games to work? :D

Tombraider series need perfect Audio Track emulation, this is done is FpseCE 0.1.

Last PocketISO gives good results and is necessary too, or it won't work.

About Final Fantasy VII, ripping video work only if you choose "10% option" or use the "smallest video" option.

- 10% Option rip 90% of any Video, and let the first 10% in place, but it's usefull when it's possible to skip Video by pressing a button.

- Smallest video option, get the smallest video of the game, then replace all videos by this one, usefull for games which don't have skip button.

game: Diablo 1 (NTSC-U)

fpsece ver: 0.09.6
bios: SCPH1001.BIN
ripped: 356mb (Z), smallest video source
pocketISO ver: 3.1

no cd-rom error when using uncompressed image, but then (diablo1) dont run anyway /black screen and hangup/

hey guys..

really like to emulator.. works great.... one major problem though......

i'm using pocketISO 3.1 and i'm trying to compress various img files. the main one i am trying is Gunner's Heaven (Japanese version of Rapid Reload).

i have tried every combination of options of compression and not one has worked.......... i always copy the z/znx and table files with correct naming conventions all the way.. every single time i get the cd rom initialization failed message.

its really bugging me out. i can use regular uncompressed images but i have only 1.5gb of space for games. i can't understand what i am doing wrong with this. at least one combo must work.........?

i have tried the following games (all these games are img files)

ridge racer (pal)
maze heroes (ntsc-j)
poy poy 2 (ntsc-j)
crash bandicoot 1 (ntsc-us)

i even tried to convert the img files into iso using magiciso then running the iso in pocketiso.... all failed........

i'm stuck now............ please help!!

many, many thanks!

It just depend of your device I think.

For example, my device is a samsung omnia and I can't use pocket iso because of I-don't-remeber-what that is not campatible to use compressed roms.(I get the same error message as you if I try)

So I only use "raw" iso, or bin or img, without any compression and it works perfect (but my omnia currently has 24Gb of memory - initial 16gb+16gb micro SD, so that's not a problem for me)
