NFS (network share on Ubuntu Server) permission denied in FPSe

Postby HoshiYamazaki » Sun May 05, 2019 7:00 pm

My server is running Ubuntu 18.04 with nfs-kernel-server running under systemd, but when I try to connect from Oculus GO (this is standalone VR system running Android) or from Xiaomi Mi6 I get error that there is no access to /home/hoshi/NFS dir (and everything should work fine).

My /etc/exports setup:
/home/hoshi/NFS *(rw,sync,no_subtree_check,no_root_squash)

I tried also RO options, I assume I don't need to setup certain IP to get access (so no *)? /home/hoshi/NFS belongs to hoshi group and user also there are drwxrwxr-x permissions.

I'm not familiar with NFS and there is small information how to configure it, thanks tho.

Ok so I found that there in /var/log/syslog is error:
```refused mount request from 192.168.1.213 for /home/hoshi/NFS (/home/hoshi/NFS): illegal port 50060```
So if you want to get working you must add (..insecure..) to /etc/exports mount option like that:
/home/hoshi/NFS *(rw,sync,no_subtree_check,no_root_squash,insecure)
And also don't put bins/iso in subdirs since it WON'T work.
I think thread is closed.
Hoshi
you should tried the new version of FPse i posted today, you can now add manual NFS mount point
Usefull if you just want to add a specific directory within a share and if your NFS server on another network
