Re: Xperia Play some trouble with FPSE
FPSE doesn't require the phone to be rooted. That's that cleared up.
You may need to consider that it may be because you have a rooted hardware that might be causing you problems.
ISO files are the way forward with FPSE my friend, you need to either convert the BIN file to an ISO, or rip your game from the disc as an ISO.
You can convert your BIN file following these instructions:
The first step is to download the BIN2ISO application from
here. The downloaded file (bin2iso.zip) must be extracted using either WinZip or WinRar.
After extraction, double click the BIN2ISO.EXE file.
On the window that appears you will see:
1) Open in:
2) Save in:
3) Process:
4) Quit
Click the button next to the white box for Open in, and select your BIN file.
Then click the button next to the white for for Save in, and select a location you want the ISO file to be saved, make sure you make a file name.
Then click process.
Go and make a coffee whilst you wait for the progress bar to fill.
Once that's done, your done!
To rip an ISO image from your LEGAL copy of your favorite playstation one game, follow these instructions, originally written by Hazed, over at ifans.com:
First of all, download the free version of Alcohol (52%) from:
http://www.free-downloads.net/programs/Alcohol_52__Free_Edition(Click the Download button at the TOP RIGHT)
Once you have installed that, follow these simple steps:
Put your original PSX game cd into your cd/dvd drive
Open Alcohol 52% and click "Image Making Wizard" from the list on the left
Tick the box that says "Read Sub-Channel Data from current disc"
From the Datatype drop-down list, select "Play Station"
In the Image Name box, enter the name of the game. This will be the name of your ISO file
From the drop-down list on the right, choose "CloneCD Image File"
Finally, choose a place to save the ISO file in the folder selector, and click Start
Follow these steps, and you should have your game running in no time.
I personally have ripped FFVIII and have it running on my XPlay, and it's running perfectly.
Good luck!
