Post Xperia Play some trouble with FPSE
Hey Guys!

Im new and not sure if im in the right panel here.
If got an Xperia Play with the free Version of FPSE running on it. But i have got a couple of promblems and hope you can help me.
1. All the .bin files from my original PSX Games wont be displayed by FPSE. Some of the .cue with i added too were found and i can start the game with it.
2. After i tried my original version of FInal Fantasy VIII i got an alternative version. This second one is noticed by FPSE and runs well. But every cut scene among the intro is NOT beeing visualiesd - if got a grey screen until the end. During Scenes mixed out of cut scene and gameplay grafik the scene part is grey and the gameplay grafik is normal.

I hope you can help me!

Ps. Sorry for my bad english ;) Its been some years ...

Another question:

I want so export my Memory Card from my Xperia Play to my PS3.
Unfortunately i cant find any .mcd files on my Phone.

Altogether tidied up this thread, and deleted a post pertaining to piracy. DHD, consider this a verbal warning that piracy and posts helping people to pirate software is not condoned on these boards.

Now, to your question.
I believe that to access the Fpse program directory on your PLAY, you need root access. I don't know if the play has yet been rooted. To find out if it has or not, and how to do it, you could check over at XDA-devs.

FPSE doesn't require the phone to be rooted. That's that cleared up.
You may need to consider that it may be because you have a rooted hardware that might be causing you problems.

ISO files are the way forward with FPSE my friend, you need to either convert the BIN file to an ISO, or rip your game from the disc as an ISO.

You can convert your BIN file following these instructions:

The first step is to download the BIN2ISO application from here. The downloaded file ( must be extracted using either WinZip or WinRar.

After extraction, double click the BIN2ISO.EXE file.

On the window that appears you will see:
1) Open in:
2) Save in:
3) Process:
4) Quit

Click the button next to the white box for Open in, and select your BIN file.
Then click the button next to the white for for Save in, and select a location you want the ISO file to be saved, make sure you make a file name.
Then click process.
Go and make a coffee whilst you wait for the progress bar to fill.
Once that's done, your done!

To rip an ISO image from your LEGAL copy of your favorite playstation one game, follow these instructions, originally written by Hazed, over at

First of all, download the free version of Alcohol (52%) from:
(Click the Download button at the TOP RIGHT)

Once you have installed that, follow these simple steps:

Put your original PSX game cd into your cd/dvd drive
Open Alcohol 52% and click "Image Making Wizard" from the list on the left
Tick the box that says "Read Sub-Channel Data from current disc"
From the Datatype drop-down list, select "Play Station"
In the Image Name box, enter the name of the game. This will be the name of your ISO file
From the drop-down list on the right, choose "CloneCD Image File"
Finally, choose a place to save the ISO file in the folder selector, and click Start

Follow these steps, and you should have your game running in no time.
I personally have ripped FFVIII and have it running on my XPlay, and it's running perfectly.

Good luck!
