Writing cheat codes (any game?)

I reviewed the help file and I viewed the auto obtainable cheats for the current game I am working on, and I only have want of a handful of cheat codes. I of course, am running with NTSC bios as well. Being able to enter in custom cheats is something I would like for many games, but I just can't seem to get it right my first try...

Firstly, there are so many lines in the current cheats that my system lags when I try to edit from within fpse while game is loaded. I could not find where that file was saved, so I tried to make my own mimicking what was in the help file and on the auto obtainable cheats.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps/196817-breat ... faqs/30733 at the bottom of this are some game shark codes I intended to use... Well, most of these codes anyway.

I have Polaris Office 5 preloaded on my device, it was created as a txt file and saved as a txt file. When I loaded the file into fpse, it advisdd me 0 chezts loaded. I editted it from within fpse, and there was the text as seen below, with two symbols that looked like question marks inside a diamond. When I deleted those two symbols I was advised 1 cheat loaded, so I went to the enable/disable option and there was single blank line item.

I just tried to upload the text file I made and appearantly the board does not allow it. I'll copy paste my contents of it at the bottom.

Am I missing something? Doing something wrong? It would be super appreciated if someone could take what I have, fix it, and send it back to me somehow. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Figured it out.... So if you had a similar problem this will probably help you too.

Even though polaris office 5 wrote me a .text file, it was really an encoded rich text or .rtf file with the .text extension... There was enriched encoding getting in the way from fpse to read. Using copy/paste I copied from this forum the letters and pasted into fpse's edit cheat screen, which is absolutely text field only. That stripped the extraneous information and all 13 codes are recognized. I also noticed a typo in the values of one of the codes, so if you wanted to use them remember to change the guessing 123 code accordingly, second and third code should end in 81 and 82 respectively.
