The latest updates of fpse crashes my s4 on openGL

Postby keem85 » Thu Nov 28, 2013 9:25 am

Hi

I've searched the forums for an answer, but to no avail. The last three updates I've had on FPSE, all crashes. This is when I choose "Switch to openGL". After I switch to OpenGL, I'm going to the video-menu, and once I hit the "back" button, the app force closes. I've tried to clean up the cache and tried several kernels (KT Kernel and Ausdim). Here are my specs:

Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505
FoxHound ROM 3.2 on Android 4.3 (Same problem with 4.2.2 ROM)
Ausdim Google Kernel v10 (tried v11 and KT Kernel)

Don't know if this .txt will help?

Edit: hmm seems like that file didn't want to be added.. Logcat refuses to log when I press "record".. I don't know how to obtain a crash-log

Thanks! Is it also possible to play the games at a lower resolution? my 1080p full HD S4 can't handle the openGL. It's so slow. It works a lot better on my S3 (which I don't use)

fullhd screen mean 3.5x compare to hdready. so this mean 3.5 more memory for framebuffer and 3.5 more bandwith for rastering... to have same speed and while a ps1 emu transfert a lot of textures due to ps architecture. this mean the gpu on fullhd devices should be 3.5 faster regarding gpu specs on hdready devices... we are far from this....

a mali400 on hdready screen will run faster than a mali t628 on fullhd screen just because of this.

possible trick would to divide by 2 textures size but quality will suffer a lot i suppose.

for now the best thing is to optimize the plugin what i m doing.

Thanks! That makes sense!.. Is there anything I can do to optimize? Or can I only use software rendering for now? :)
