Final Fantsy VIII: No cutscenes when OpenGL active?

Heya, I recently installed FPse for android and the sixaxiscontroller from dancingpixelstudios on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Both work marvelous, currently I have N-Gen, Penny racers, Breath of Fire III, FFVII and FFVIII installed.

Got a problem with FFVIII though: When I set the openGL function on (Settings/Misc/OpenGL), the cutscenes won't show video. I do get the sound, and when the cutscene is over I do get to continue the game. Does anyone have an idea how to 'fix' this? (other than turnng the OpenGL function off). Without OpenGL the characater is just a bunch of pixels, with OpenGl it's acctually very nice.

P.S.
Game(s) aren't compressed.

Hello...Im also playing FF8 in Open gl....The only thing you need its offscreen drawing.

I also play with Special Framelimit and Frameskip.

There are some significant issues with ff8 and OpenGL. Check the ff8 game specific forum for posts from the last 6 months or so, and check my OpenGL thread (see my signature).

Its playable with OpenGL (probably) but there are issues

Do the cuts scenes work without OpenGL? Check my OpenGL spreadsheet, there may be a option to use to help. However I agree that using the fewest settings needed is best.

That's setting was acallt made for ff7 (epexially) ff8. The intro cut darned only run st 2/2 speed rethought it. However, if it's causing issues obviously disable it.

Also, you could try the 'frame texture' option (which is mislabeled I think). The best thing is probably not loading from a savestate.
