Resident Evil 2 - constantly walking forward

Hi all,
I've just got resident evil 2 working with a gamepad on fpse android and assigned the keys.

but if I push up on the d-pad once he/she will constantly walk until I push down. I know the gamepad is working correctly because I've been playing the same game on my PC with the gamepad.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could be missing or doing wrong?

I think I may have fixed it. I've set the controls to analogue and then re-applied the up button again. Seems to have done the trick.
