How good is FPSE on dual core devices?

Hello world! I am going to buy a Droid soon, and would like to know how you're doing with yours and FPSE: I'm currently looking at dual-core devices with either a NovaThor U8500 Chipset or TI OMAP 4430.
I've seen active users reporting good news with their PowerVR SGX540, and no problem from novathor's Mali-400MP. I'd like to hear some of you guys to help me chill out and be assured I'm going to buy a device capable of playing (in a "playable" way) some good ol' PSX games. Thanks!

Edit: I am really close buying a Samsung Galaxy S Advance. Can anyone report its good working with fpse? Is this one of the "lower-end" phones bluezeak talks about in his sticky post? [...mali-400 devices users of some devices (lower end?)...]

thanks for the answer, actually novathor U8500 is the chipset where the Mali-400 sits in the Galaxy S Advance. This Mali-400 is different from the SII one because it's single core in the S Advance, and dual core in the SII, so half the power.

EDIT: well, i'm now taking into account waiting for HTC One S to deflate its price. Since I don't see any video gameplay of FPse online, i'd really like (if not NEED) to know if this phone can run it smoothly. I heard problems and consequent fixes on adreno 220, but nothing on 225 if not speculations. HELP!
