to play games on an emulator, you need to turn your psx game (the disk) into a file that can be used by the emulator - generically called a 'ROM' or ISO.
Technically there are several different file formats that you can use. I'll provide a brief overview, and a couple links:
1) need a cd/dvd player that can read the 'raw' format (most can I believe)
2) convert game to iso on your computer, using software that can turn a CD to an iso file.
3) some games need to have .sbi (subchannel) information. you need a program that can do that.
4) some games need fixes applied - special .sbi files usually.
