I thought I had posted another reply on this topic, but I don't see it.

the reason games run slow is because of filtering. turn filtering off, games should run fine.

before schtruck implemented the option for using multiple CPU cores, filtering was almost useless because it made games run too slow. but with the ability to use multiple cores, filtering became much more possible. For me, using multiple cores makes games run choppy, as if there is a lot of frame skip, so I never use it. I think that issue is part of the major problem with the 11.30-11.33 updates - it was same issue, just made more dramatic.

with the continued improvements schtruck has made, games almost run fast enough that you can use filtering even with 'forced monocore' turned on.

actually, I have filtering off and while using monocore it is really slow for me. but surprisingly, my random freezes just... disappeared? I don't seem to be having them anymore for some reason, even with forced monocore off; is it the new update?

Did you uninstall and reinstall (i.e reset your settings)? Did you uncheck 'hardware acceleration'?

Games should not be slow if filtering is off unless you have a low quality phone. Verify it is really off. Also, you should notice a significant/noticeable change in graphics. If you don't, its not turning off. Try turning off hardware acceleration.

wait the next 48 hours, i'll release a new version with very fast OpenGL blitting code, with bilinear filtering, you won't have anymore this problem and i'm sure it will be fast.

Thank you very much, I'll make sure to update and post here to say how it works.

after trying the new version out:

- If I use OpenGL - I get about 15-20~ FPS.
- Without OpenGL - I get 60 FPS but it drops to 30 every time I open a menu in FF8.
- With Old software drawing - stable 60 FPS everywhere, but still has the freezing issue.

Is there any way to get rid of the freezing thing and still be able to play with 60 FPS? will really appreciate it...

I don't get any slowdown in ff8 with the new 'blitter' mode. Please tell me exactly where you get the slowdown.

As we discussed above, for the 'old software' mode, you need to turn on forced monocore, and you may need to turn off hardware acceleration. Also you will need to make sure filtering is turned off or the game will ruin slow.

Once I turn on OpenGL + Blitter I get about 16-20~ FPS :/ I'm going crazy over here, it doesn't make any sense. Tab 2 has really strong specs.
