I have never tried software mode or low profile, and I dont like OpenGL because it brings more bugs than benefits specially for the Mali400...

aren't those non-hw-accel modes going to make graphics worse and consume more battery?

Hardware accelerated will use more GPU, but out still uses a lot of CPU. Maybe as much as software. I don't knew if they use more or less CPU, I think OpenGL uses more battery.

OpenGL 2 ES 'blighter' is a software rendering mode add far add I know, its just a better one.

Old versions of FPSE are the same as 'old software mode'. That's what old software mode is - the same rendering add old versions if fodder.

If you do try to use the old software mode, please let me know. I'm very interested if out fixes your problem.
