HW key mapping not working anymore

so i have had fpse for a while and never had any problems with it but i dont know if its the new update or what but i use wiimotecontroller to play the games on my wii mote well now i got a new game and i cant map the keys anymore. am i doing something wrong? i load the game then go to settings, gamepad, assign hw buttons, assign hw keys for pad 1 then click up and hit any key on my wiimote and it doesnt do anything and i know i have the wii mote set up right because old games that i have previously mapped keys for work fine and i can still play them. im using a samsung galaxy tab 8.9 and i also tried it on my galaxy nexus and bothing dont work
