Question about license checking

So, I know there is a license check that FPSe for Android does periodically. What I want to know is how often is this needed? If I "check in", does that reset the clock, so to speak? I am normally around wifi, but I have a trip coming up where I am not certain and want to make sure that I will not be locked out of playing my favorite app!
