Save States Not Working

Hello,

I posted something similar to this in the feedback thread, but I think this board is more appropriate for questions.

I bought the Fpse for Android app this morning, as I didn't get the results I wanted from psx4droid. The interface is quite nice, and is running my test game, Final Fantasy 8, quite well! I am using a DROID 2 phone.

However, I have one major concern: the save state function is not working for me at all. Whenever I try to save use the save state function, on any of the empty slots, it just stays as "EMPTY". I've tried exiting out, restarting, tapping it multiple times, etc., to no effect. How do I go about fixing this? The current directory for the save states is, for some reason, "//"

Another concern I have is about the directory that save states AND in-game created saves are located. I can't seem to find them. They don't show up on my sdcard, and I can't find it on the phone memory. Where are they located?

(Interestingly, psx4droid creates a folder on the sdcard for the memory cards. It seems that Fpse keeps it within a hidden directory that my phone can't see. Being that this app doesn't have a "Move to SD card function", I am limited.)

Thank you very much!

you can change the savestate directory, into menu browse directories after selecting "Change Savestate path" then whenyou entered the directory you want to put saves, then press Back button.

exit and restart ,then After retry to save.

Would you consider changing the default to the ROM directory or at least somewhere on the SD card?
I just switched my phone and moving over the savestates is more complicated than necessary.

i've just read the problem entirely, and finally it seems to be related to Default Savestate path, if somebody can help me to understand this problem, he's welcome...

Are you installing FPse into memory or Storage?

well first, as far as i understood the savesstates path is for quick save/load only, saving/loading memory card is a different story. i personnally changed the folder for mcd001.mcd and mcd002.mcd to the MyDocuments folder of my phone, but to change to another directory you need the file to be already placed there. If u need a memory card file i can upload you one with an older save of my ff7 progress^^

i've just understood there is a missing feature... the creation of a blank memory card, then once MCD path is change, and you will press mcd creation it will create a blank memory card into this place.

Thank you! I apologize for such a slow reply. For some reason, after the third try of following your advice, it started to work for all of my games. I guess it was just a bug?

For anyone in the future who has this issue, here is what I did specifically:
-On the SD card, created a separate folder called "PS1 Saves"
-Opened up FPSE and started a game
-Once the game got going, I selected system settings, then Savestates Path
-Found the "PS1 Saves" folder on my Sd card and selected it
-Backed all the way out back to the game
-Open the UI Menu in order to select Quit
-In the submenu for Quit, select Restart
-Saving and Loading should work
*Might take a few times to work as of this version

So again, thank you for the help! This is a fantastic app!
