[Android] FF7 Sound + some other bits and pieces

The audio in FF7 (not tried anything else yet) is a bit off.

Sound effects and midi instruments seem to be cut short.

I did a quick search but I didn't find anything.

There's a couple of other things I think might be worth thinking about:

-There should be a means to set a default directory for the rom browser, starting at the root directory when my roms are /sdcard/external_sd/psx/roms/ is a pain to navigate to at startup
-You should be able to enable navigation to directories with a period prefixing them ("hidden" folders in linux)
-The memory card selection should allow the selection of both mcd and mcr files since they seem to be compatible
-one of the things I miss from psx4droid is that if you quit it would make a save state and then load it again when the rom is next launched
-This is probably a big one but support of PSP EBOOT roms would be awesome

All in all good work! It runs a lot faster than PSX4droid :)

Tioz.
I got a solid 50fps on final fantasy 7 pal version
In battle, map exploring and in menu option screen.
I'm using a bin,cue file. Running on desire hd froyo 2.2.1

Ps with
spu sync on.
Screen filtering off
Hle mode off
Boost mode off

Try this settings.

I'll try that now.. or might it be the ISO I'm running?

BTW better to run the .cue or the .bin file?

Yeah it runs really smoothly on my Galaxy S. Sound just doesn't work at all in-game now though :(, It works on the intro screen and the loading dialog from the initial menu, but after that no sound at all.

Settings:

MDEC - On
GTE - On
Fast Booting - On
HLE - Off
Boost - Off
No Sound - Off
SPU Sync - On
Framelimiter - On
Frameskip - Off
Screen Filtering - Off
Screen Size - 4/3 centred

Turning the screen to 4/3 centered fixed the music/sound being way off for FFVII and FFIX

I was pulling my hair out, I reloaded my phone back to stock and would get the weird sound/music problems. I reflashed the custom rom and would still have problems..

So now I can enjoy FFVII on FPSE instead of limping along with psx4droid.

Ill go back into the market and adjust my low rating im sorry I gave this app =)

Here is a bad quality video recorded from my moto droid before i turned 4/3 center on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzHpRcgH1Sw

With the 4/3 center turned on here is the difference http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUfSel-klrU

Hey guys,
I was having the same choppy sound issue on ffvii but changing the video to 4/3 centered worked like a charm. The only thing is now when I play the audio through my bluetooth stereo headset I get really choppy sound again. Anyone else experiencing this? The audio plays just fine through the bluetooth when playing resident evil 3 but it not when plaing ffvii. Any ideas? I am using the settings reccomended above and I'm using a custom rom on my samsung epic 4g.

What is HLE mode and why does disabling it help?

I am trying to play with sound and FPS running smoothly. It seems I can't do both. The game runs and sounds great when I have frame skip set to 40 and frame limiter off. The second I get into a battle, the game and audio speeds wayyyyyyyyyyyyy up and goes crazy fast. When I am not in a battle however, it works fine and sounds great. I turn on frame limiter and the audio when going into a battle starts to really slow down but FPS is steady. I don't know what else I can do.

I have the following enabled

mdec, gte, fast booting, SPU, framelimiter (frameskip is at 0 for now (what does this even do?? i cant tell))

Also, I don't notice any different with screen filtering on or off. What does this do along with frameskip? Thanks.
