The way to reproduce the bug:

1. start any game
2. enter menu
3. go to settings/misc/video
4. at first everything seems ok...
5. select an option (for example Software HD resolution)
6. Software HD resolution window opens correctly
7. Choose 2x or 4x or just press OK to get back
8. problems start here: some options disappear (like Soft HD res)...
9. other options work in a wrong way: for example press Offscreen level, HD res selectior will pop up.

Happens on both my XPlay (ICS) and G3 (Lollipop).

...and you still haven't explained anything about the new Software OpenGL renderer ;).

Good device my friend!

Btw i'm preparing a new fixed version 0.11.166

autosave fixed, now everything is saved, before i saw options changes wasn't saved, and if autosave was set you had black screen when quitting game

THe menu problem reported by elwood is true , i fixed it too.

and last, the GPU SGX540 is fixed too with opengl high definition

About the new plugin, it's an OpenGL software advanced plugin, what this mean, it's a software plugin which had a rendering engine and a core engine more advanced than internal Software plugins, it's not the High Definition OpenGL 2.0 plugin we are still working on. This new soft plugin can you let playing with less glitches and run some games that normal plugin cannot emulate. But into this last version the 3 software plugins have somes improvements like the Dithering code which is fixed and very optimized.

Played around with the settings more in FF9. Tried the OpenGL Soft Advanced again. Didn't realize you could change the shaders. Changed them from their default HQ3X to HQ4X and the pixelation and choppiness went away. Game runs much smoother, other than the OpenGL soft advanced does not render in HD like the OpenGL HD does.

Played thru a bit more and I realized the sound effect are all weird. Before it was just the sound in the cutscenes. No crackling, just distorted. I've tried it with reverb and pitch effects on/off, no change.

Correct. Frameskipping does not improve the sound.
