Could be related with a firewall app.

I tested on nexus 9 and nvidia shield and this works well

There is a problem with savestates on latest update, I think it's related with screenshots and new possibility of forcing resolution.

hmm, yes, you surely found a bug, i'll check this

Btw the optimisation i'm talking about is impressive! i finally have Tekken3 full speed in opengl on my Note4 in Quad HD resolution.

Everything is boosted highly in fact. i think i have to fix what's you reporting and will push a new boosted version.

You mean to Google Play? I just can't wait. :)
I also found that The X-files is unplayable but it's like in most emulator so no biggie.

I found out that the reduced opengl resolution modes actually do work, it's the screen rotation that is causing these (screenshots scaled 50%, the G3 screen is 2560x1440):

The screen looks OK until the phone is rotated. After that it's like in the screenshots. Temporary workaround is to force horizontal resolution in the menus.
Does not happen in standard (full) opengl resolutions, does happen with all the "force scaling" modes I tried.

ok guys i just pushed a new beta which is much faster! on all my devices it's much faster, smoother.

starting from my low end device Galaxy Ace 1 to my Nexus 9, all is much more faster.

For exemple, SoftHD is very fast now, much than before, and OpenGL is very good. on my Galaxy Ace 1 i play very well spyro 1.
on my Xperia Play i play very well in OpenGL Spyro 1 and on my Note 4 S805 Tekken3 is very smooth in OpenGL in Quad HD resolution!

if someone who is not beta tester want to test, let me know by email
