CloudStrife86 wrote:Also, a quick question, does there actually exist a version of the SGS2 with a MALI400? I have the exynos version, and the only alternative I knew of was the Tegra 2 one.

All of the SGS2 ( i.e. i9100 ) are with MALI400MP. Mine is with this video chip as well and I'm very satisfied with it.

Cheers.

GUYS WITH AN ADRENO 220, could you try a FULL 3D GAME without frameskip, and repport fps ?

I mean, RPGs like Final Fantasy don't contain much 3D, even for me, they are fast.

But games with a lot of 3D are different! Try Tekken, try Gran Turismo, RPGs are easily rendered, so not a good test.

Whatever I do, I can't go over 27 fps for tekken3 without frameskip, and hardly get over 40 fps with frameskip.

I definitly hate my device, buying it was a huge mistake! Now I'll have to wait months before going back to Samsung.

I'm in the same situation as you. I have an evo 3D and tekken 3 in opengl I'm not over 18 fps and about 33 with frameskip. We could say that it is because of the higher resolution than the galaxy s II but not at all since the galaxy note is in 720p and it is apparently full speed too.
I am disgusted too, but I have not take the evo 3D only for games and if I had the galaxy S II, I know there are things that I will not like in it.
I will quietly wait for the snapdragon s4 or quad core.

Sorry for my english I'm french.

you have alway to start with Tekken3 in HLE mode and then reach the Characters selection menu
after you can apply bios and load any game then save or load to switch bios in MISC menu load a bios by choosing file
To disable bios, go to MISC menu then load bios and press Back button, you'll swtich to HLE after a restart.
Switch to HLE by pressing Back to the Bios loader everytime,
restart to apply without quitting or you'll have to restart the procedure.

Plugin can be downloaded here: http://perso.numericable.fr/schtruck/libopenglplugin.so

In order for your games to not crash you need to use the above workaround.

Good Luck!

I'm in the same situation,
opengl performs awful on the sensation, no opengl is great, super smooth game play. But games like spyro the dragon for example with huge worlds slow down to a crawl, heck even crash bandicoot warped doesn't run full speed. But if I load an intensive game like GTA3, the phone doesn't break a sweat and game play is flawless, hopefully its just an issue with our gpu that can be looked at.

I am going to post a video of some games later tonight but in the mean time, can someone give me feedback on how Tekken3 runs for you?
With opengl it looks damn good but while running the intro for example, the first part is very smooth when only one character is doing for the forms but when there are two it drops from the max 56 (vsync of my sgs) to about 40 after making a pause between scenes.
I guess the video will be easier to understand.

This is a Galaxy S running ICS @ 1.55Ghz (power vr540)

Thanks

Just updated and started playing Parasite Eve 1.
First i save the game, then try to save again on the same slot. I get an error.
It only lets me save on unused slots... And i can't delete old saves. WTF?!
