Had to leave it on OpenGL HD mode. OpenGL soft mode would cause game to freeze when going from ingame movie to gameplay. Graphics were also very pixelated in OpenGL soft mode.

No change in sound, it still crackles in and out no matter what the latency settings are.

(running FF9 on HTC M8; Android 5.0.1)

if you can make a video , i'd like to hear sound problem, and what is the latency value when you are recording.

Not sure if there's an app I could use to record the screen and sound.

But I've got the latency at 200 right now. I've gone as low as 80 and as high as 350 but it still crackles and sounds distorted.

Couldn't find an in app recorder for android that would capture the sound as well.

But I did make some headway.

I downloaded and tried a different image of the same game (FF9), and the new game image worked much better. The audio only crackles once in a while. The audio during the initial cutscene only skipped twice with the latency set to 50. This on OpenGL HD mode. Soft OpenGL still has low res graphics, but the audio is no different than on OpenGL HD mode (cutscenes skip once in a while). The only big thing I've noticed is the transition effect when going from map to battle (that swirling effect) is only a black screen. This is on all video modes.

Hello Schtruck!

Would you care to elaborate what the new video plugin is about?

On both my XPlay and LG G3 the new OpenGL Software output is pretty much the same as Software Smoother. Same with speed.

The resolution seems to be the original PS1 res, is that intentional?

Also, the Settings/Misc/Video tab is broken. Selecting an option opens another, like when I press "Offscreen drawing level", the "HD Software Resolution" pops up etc.

Aaaand hardware button mapping does not work. What I mean is that it does not remember custom button mappings. It worked in previous versions.

Seems like this version still has a LONG way to go. What do you mean when you say that the menu is fixed?

EDIT: I made a clean install (deleted data, uninstalled, deleted .fpse folder) - same behavior. What I noticed this time that if you go to misc/video, at first it seems OK, but after selecting an option and making an adjustment, and getting back, some options disappear and pressing specific labels brings up wrong options, like I described before.
