Glad to read that, but YOU have at least hardware buttons ;)... Anyway, we are working on some software virtual dpad emulation at xda. Hope we'll see some results soon.

Hi, I wanted to kick off a bit more of a discussion on the HTC Touch HD. Has anyone had a successful, playable game on this device yet? I'm getting hold of a few more ROMs, but the one I've tried so far is (my favourite game ever!) Twisted Metal II.

I get a framrate of 22fps, which is just below playable. My concern is that this is one of the games that is rated as 'good' on 0.96. I know 1.0 will step up the quality but was wondering if anyone had some tips/tricks for getting the software playing better (I followed your tips on page 1 dredd) or any feedback on whether the phone can handle the emulator.

Also curious to have a controller's discussion. I've followed (and loved) all your work over the last month dredd, but was wondering about bluetooth hardware gamepads - particularly any ways of connecting them to the HTC.

Anyways, will post later when not at work but they were my initial thoughts.

Hi smeddy,

I have a touch HD too, and I’ve been following this project since i saw a post on the XDA forums from Dreadd67.
I've been a bit worried about my HD's performance with FPSE and the lack of any hardware buttons has been a real concern.

So I went and bought a new 'Bluetooth Gamepad' and i found a fairly cheap deal (£25ish). I've had it for about a week now and i have to say it works perfectly, i had no problems setting up the drivers (even though it didn't have touch HD in the driver list, i just chose the only HTC device in the list, and it worked). And even though it says you can’t fit any phones over 55mm wide in the pad, the touch HD just about squeezes in :D

I’ve been playing FF7 for about a week now, and apart from the sound (very stuttery) it’s very playable at around 25-40fps.
I know the new fpse will be faster, I also hope the sound issue with my HD will be fixed too.

Scotty.

Hey, cheers for letting me know about the gamepad Scotty, as I really liked the look of it if it's the one I'm thinking of - was it this one?

If so I'll buy it as soon as 1.0 comes out, assuming games work okay!
