Dragon Warrior VII

I've played the game from the start up to the Deja Tribe cut scene of Jann and Layla. After that scene, using the default, I get flickering and then a black screen with the dialogue or with OpenGL, a totally black screen. I am pretty sure this is an issue with my current settings. Any input from someone whose completed the game on what to change would be great.
I've referred to the other issues and no luck when I tried them.

Okay. Will share right before the cutscene. Only have to talk to the NPC north of the player character.

Hi,

I am also experiencing black screen issues in the same game.
Often after defeating certain bosses, the screen will go black - showing only the dialogue text. Thereafter only the background music and black screen.

Here's a video where this can be seen: https://youtu.be/rfEv7rh__qc

(Apologees for borrowing thread)

Any solutions?

I tried saving in-game and then restarting the game and loading that file from the start-up of the game disc.
(To see if the current quicksave file had anything to do with the issue)
This, however, did not make any particular difference. I actually got one step further (to the third Dharma arena fight) but then same thing again - black screen with only bg-music playing.

Can you share files you use to save and load game?

If you use FPse files are into your internal storage then see the directory starting by a dot and fpse
If you don't see it it s because you need to enable view hidden files from your file browser

If you use FPse64 files are stored into internal storage then see FPse64

Send me that to schtruck@gmail.com
