PaRappa The Rapper

Hello all. Bought the FPse app last night.

I'm having a heck of a time getting PaRappa The Rapper to play well.

I've tried with regular options and OpenGL options with no luck.

I prefer to have OpenGL enabled as the graphical upgrade is significant.

There are a lot of video options and they are (no offense intended) a bit cryptic even after reading the documentation.

The game ALMOST works by the way. It's just always a little "off". I've tried all sorts of random combinations of various video settings. At one point the game was playing "flawlessly" at about 80 fps. Perfect sync between audio/video and no input lag using the regular overlay controls. Perfect if it wasn't running in chipmunk speed. Most of the time it seems to jump around at and below 60 fps. Meaning the frame rate constantly jumps around between 55-60 fps without ever settling, making a game like this very frustrating.

Am I asking for too much from this app? Did I just pick a genre (rhythm/music) that's too difficult to emulate perfectly?

frameskip and special frame limiter will surely help in opengl mode.
