xenogears on xperia play

Hey guys, everything has been working great with there game. Haven't had any issues up until a certain scene with fei. The game gets extremely slow and then freezes. Its on the part after the red gear shows up and blows everything up and some woman asks the fei be put in d-block. He views himself as a young boy and then it rotates and then freezes. Any suggestions.... I tried tinkering with settings but I wasn't sure what I was changing and nothing helped
