Funny enough, I decided to start playing Valkyria Profile the other day on my Xperia when I saw your fix. And I actually didn't encounter that problem. Did they fix or something?

Well I tried every possible settings for FPSE, no luck. But for those who are interested I got it working perfectly with native Xperia emulator, although PAL versions work kinda funny, so stick to USA one.
