I fixed this on my phone by switching to the SCPH7502 BIOS.
This BIOS seems to fix quite a few issues lately.

Using the SCPH7502 bios, this issue does not seem to occur. I'd recommend switching to it for this game.

Ever since the update Castlevania SOTN displays screen garbage on a large portion of the screen when using a real BIOS. If HLE is on, it does not do this. The same thing happens to me. Ever since the update Castlevania SOTN displays screen garbage on a large portion of the screen when using a real BIOS. If HLE is on, it does not do this. I'm not really sure why it works, but here's what works for me on my Droid 2. 1. Turn off HLE emulation. 2. Turn off Fast Booting. 3. Save your game to an unused memory card. I repeat, there *cannot* be any other saves on the card. I'm not sure if you can save on the card afterward. I will try this ...
