Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

Can't talk about the droid 3, but I can speak for the Galaxy S (1), as I'm a kernel developer for this phone (it should apply to the Nexus S as well). I'm only talking about the S-AMOLED equipped models. Slowdowns are linked to how the screen refresh rate works (and not directly to the GPU drivers)....

Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

I did try everything in the options actually to be honest, with no difference. I was surprised at first to see how smooth the 3D objects were, then I saw the performance drop. FSAA was disabled. I did try to enable it to see any difference. Same (low) performances, same (great) smooth edges. I'm ver...

Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

In software mode, everything looks good so far. All games are running at fullspeed, and memory use looks improved.

Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

Looks like antialiasing is always enabled (enabled or disabled has no effect), and brightness is messed up with the new GPU plugin. Needless to say, most 3D games are now unplayable on my i9000 (SGX540), even with heavy overclock (1.5GHZ CPU / 250MHz GPU). For example FFIX was running fine before (5...

schtruck wrote:Use Bluez IME to map PS3 BT pad.

Would you mind to explain how to do it ? I feel stupid, I'm trying for an hour with absolutely no luck.
I just can't pair with the pad using bluez IME. Only Sixaxis Controller app works, but nothing in FPSE anymore since the update.

Thanks.

Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

While I agree that a tegra 2 couldn't handle ps2 emulation, tegra 3 just might. It's going to be a quad-core 1.5ghz part, so it should have the muscle. The real trick iis that pcsx2 is built for x86 hardware, and it would take a lot of work to get it running efficiently on arm. We'll see. I've been...

Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

Emulating a 33 Mhz MIPS R3000A cpu, 3MB RAM and 180k polygons/s GPU with with 16.3MB/s bandwidth (playstation specs) can already be tricky on some games using a Galaxy S with 1Ghz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, 512MB RAM and 28M polygons/s GPU with 4.2GB/s bandwidth (even if it's not used yet in fpse). Take not...

Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

Don't compare phones with Quadrant mate ;) Here's my Galaxy S : http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/3518/screen2011051318251.th.png This benchmark is useless. For your link to Droid 3, it uses OMAP 4. It's a dual core processor (and Cortex A9) so you can't compare it to Hummingbird/singlecore (Cortex...

Re: Fpse for Android Discussion/Feedback

Hummingbird is faster than Omap by 5-10%. Omap is the closest to original ARM Cortex-A8 design (versus Hummingbird and Snapdragon), and it's the slowest. Though, any Galaxy S variant should be able to play Tekken 3 @ 60FPS on FPSE. If it doesn't, then your problem comes from something else. For exam...
